The Kampala-Masaka road highway has been blocked by river Katonga earlier this morning on the 11th of May 2023. The water levels of river Katonga have increased from the normal levels and crossed the road which has blocked the movement of travelers and other road users on the Kampala – Masaka highway.
Police have informed the general public to be careful with their lives while using the road as the Uganda National Roads Authority will announce the possible quick routes that the road users can use in the meantime.
*Attention, all road users on the Kampala-Masaka highway:* The water levels at Katonga River have risen significantly, posing a serious risk to motorists and pedestrians attempting to cross. For your safety, we strongly advise using alternative routes while we collaborate with
Uganda National Roads Authority to address the situation promptly. Travelers from Kampala are encouraged to utilize the Mpigi-Butambala-Ssembabule road as a viable alternative. While individuals traveling from Masaka are advised to take the Masaka-Ssembabule Road as a diversion. Please exercise caution, follow traffic instructions, and watch out for further updates.
