The Uganda Police Force has announced that it is looking for former MP Odonga Otto for allegedly involvement in torture and theft under the guise of environmental activism.
Police said Otto and a group of others are accused of assaulting three coal traders and injuring them seriously.
Otto and his co-conspirators are accused of assaulting coal traders in Atanga sub-county, Pader district on Sunday. The armed men allegedly attacked Charles Ssemanda, Yusuf Wagwana, and Takafa Erisata, beat them and stole Shs.1,100,000 and damaged their Fuso (UBA 600B) during the attack. Pader district police commander Abraham They also allegedly stole two seats, the key and a spare part of the vehicle and then cut the windshield, cut the tires and punched holes in the fuel tank.
°Whatever the former legislator Hon. Odonga Otto and a few of his associates are doing isn’t going to end well. The level of annoyance and disturbance they are orchestrating on muntu wawansi in Acholi land is hitting nuisance heights, and this needs to be stopped immediately. 1/4 pic.twitter.com/zMSfGbsmf4
